I post on here cause I like to share my new purchases. I also like finding coins I may not have been exposed to and if I like it enough, get an example for myself.

I also like to help where I can if its an area I know.

I have learned alot & gotten exposed to alot of coins here. I wouldnt have gotten into ancients if it wasnt for this board and the knowledge & help the others have given me.

I post b/c I like coins and I've learned a few things here.

Don't feel like the Lone Ranger when it comes to others bashing your coin purchases. Right here on Coin Talk I've been called a fool, a lazy collector and on and on for the things I've bought. Don't really bother me, I collect what I like not what I think will please others.

Remember it's not one collector here that hasn't made more than a few mistakes when buying coins. I don't have enough fingers or toes to count mine.

Good luck with your and your daughters collection.

Oh ladies and gentleman the biggest reason for this post was after the negative BS the same person asked to purchase the coin. Sorry left that out in the original post.

My daughter just came and said no one understands why you're really mad. My bad.

I see nothing wrong with posting this thread since you bring up an issue that may affect many folks. However, if you want to make certain that specific individuals have read your points and that they realize you were directing at least of them their way, then you might want to send a private message or two to the other parties involved.

That was done before this. Thanks and I know it was isolated but sometimes you just have to make a statement and well it was just that time of the year.

By the way anyone got a quarter? Lol!

Your kids will learn more from how you handle this in life than what someone who is anonymous says about you. Kids are more savvy than what most parents think. Handle it with honor, explain that it is many times easier to give criticism and wisecracks than it is to take it, analyze the source and its worth, and then discard or incorporate it into you life. Also remember that some members are physically or emotionally teenagers themselves.

Are you saying that's what he should tell his daughters?

I'm sure he has what it takes to be a marine and that means his skin is as thick as it gets.

More people should type messages as they would if they were interacting face to face.

    LOL......

I remember, many years ago, a Sixty Minutes segment where the commentator was interviewing the guys who were the actors behind the Muppets. Some of them were unable, reluctant or embarrassed to communicate/express themselves directly. Frank Oz (Miss Piggy) was a regular normal mild mannered guy, but put him behind Miss Piggy and the guy would immediately transform into the loud and outspoken cob roller. I suspect that more than a few of us are similar to Frank........:)

My reason that I post on Cointalk (and elsewhere online) because I like to share my interest in collecting silver art bars. I also like sharing a few of my finds and well as helping other identify what silver art bars they have as well as share my knowledge and experience on this hobby.

What got your panties all in a bunch?

First off, the OP did not have a problem with what I said, so why should you? IMHO it makes no sense to be getting upset over what people say on the Internet. The OP seems like a class guy, there was no disrespect. I just chose to use the 2x4 method, instead of the sugar coated pill to convey my post. If he were right here in my living room, I would offer him a beer and say the exact same thing.

Now the second thing, I wasn't talking to his daughters, now was I. The message to his daughters would be the same, but presented in a softer manner. Don't you agree?

Now for you, how about you coming over to my house, I'll get you a beer to, then tell you face to face, that I think you went a bit overboard on this one.

    Mike
