Other than face value, are Ike P-minted dollars of any value for collectors?

    Boy, these come just horrible.

If you can find a Gem it's worth a lot of money. Some of the varieties have value as well.

They can be sold on eBay for a little over face.

The 1972 Type C reverse commands a pretty good premium, especially in better grades.

  7. I like the 1976 P Type 1 Ike dollar. It has a relatively low mintage compared to others and gems demand a decent premium. I also like the 1973 P Ike dollar for the same reasons plus it was only available in mint sets. TC

What you mean is the 1972 Type2. The Type 2 Is often called the King of Ikes due to it low mintage and high desirability to complete the Ike dollar set.

If you meant the 1972Type 3, that too is a hard one to find, but doesn't often command as high a premium.

Its all going to depend on condition, uncirculated Ikes start gaining a premium at MS65 but variety's and errors are whole different story. When deciding to collect Ikes there are some series specific information you may want to learn as it can effect the value quite a bit. In general blast white high grades with little or no contact marks are what serious collectors are looking for. PCGS coins carry a noticeable premium over NGC slabs for various reasons. I could go on all day but in short the answer to your question is yes Ikes do in fact have collector value....

if you have a large amount of average condition non key dates, then they might get $1.25 each on ebay (if you sell them in one lot)

No problem Bill anytime, another thing i did not mention in my last post was this website here ikegroup.org this is the place to go when learning about variety's. It will list all the major and most minor variety's which command a premium. All the best Bill with your collection....
