Stopped by my Credit Union last Friday to pull out my spending money for the week. Checked the serials as I usually do and noticed a five that had the serial of 07500114 and though to myself that is like only 546 way from a radar. Knowing a few things about my Credit Union i.e. they get all their cash from a armored car service that gets all their cash directly from the BEP so all the bills would be pristine and sequential. The only two wild card would be how many more bills were in the cartridge and the day of the week they replace said cartridge. This ATM only held $5 and $20 bills so you could get a maximum of 5 $5s in a single transaction.

Armed with this knowledge I set on my quest to retrieve that radar from the ATM. I would check the ATM every time I drove by on my way to work and on my way home, about 12 hours apart and picked up the pattern of about 100 bills dispensed every 12 hours. So a few days of this goes by and its within 130 in the morning check, so I was hoping this was the day so I went back in the afternoon pulled out my $15 and it was within 30 so I was getting nervous that if I waited much longer someone else would get it and not even care what it was and buy meth with it or something like that. My wife was like get it so we pulled back around and like a mad man was putting in my card typing my pin going through the myriad of menu options to withdrawal the required three bills. Well Rinse and repeat 10 more times and behold my prize.

After that excitement I was thinking to myself that it was only 180 bills away from the matching repeater.
So I started the quest again, and this morning I went back kind of nervous knowing that they get their cash delivered on Tuesdays but not sure when they refilled the ATM I withdrew just a single $5 to see what number was up. Well it was 07500730 only 20 away, so did my mad man act again and prize number two.

tl tr: I got a new radar and repeater from the ATM.

To my amazement these are flawless despite coming from the ATM, no roller or pusher marks what so ever.

So my first Radar and repeater and it didn't cost me anything. Well my Credit Union might close my account for ATM abuse ha ha.

Where the heck do you find an ATM that spits out $5 bills? Also, if I was able to take out only $5, my ATM fee would be at 50%.

It's at the drive thru at the credit union that I bank at so no transaction fee there.

I think it's stocked with $5s because it's right at the branch and is a bigger machine. The satalite machines only
    stocks $20s.

This has to be one of the best stories I've heard in a while. My buddy thought I was nuts when I got a $20 Star out of the ATM last week and going back to get another $20 so I could keep the Star! But this your story takes the cake my friend.

In 2008, I got a $20 bill from a Wells Fargo ATM in uncirculated condition (at least 64 or higher) with serial number GL 00066600 *.

Sold it on eBay for over $100.

A radar is a palindrome ( same forward and backwords)
    So 07500570
A reapeter is when the first group of four numbers are the same as the second groud of four.
    And 0750 0750

If the maximum number of serial numbers was used ie 999999999 a radar or repeater would occur 1 in every 10100 notes

To the OP: Smart thinking and nice find. I doubt there are any limits or rules against making hundreds of ATM transactions. Haha. Good thing these ATMs dispense 5s and not 20s, or you might have cleared out your bank account before you got the note you wanted.

I received three star notes recently. All $20s. Not sure what they are worth. But, are all crispy.

So with serials not going over 96 million for a full block run how often do they occur then?

I'm no math major but I belive the odds would be the same for the repeater and radar just less of them.
The 2009 $5 J...A went up to 32000000 so max repeater would be 3199 3199 so 1 in 10,000 but there would only be 3199 no 0000 0000

The Radar is something like this max radar is 3199 9913 so same thing 1 in 10000 only 3198 as there is no 0000 0000 or 3200 0023

Once again I think this is correct, someone correct me if I'm wrong please.

Payday again and hit the old Credit union ATM. This time was for $20's. Completed my withdrawl and didn't look close at them at first, but I glanced down at the last note as I pulled away , 03409994 and was like dang that is so close to a roll over pair. So I drove back around to the ATM this time there was 3 cars in line so I was thinking to myself if only they took 1 each I should be good. Well hit it up for $100 just to be safe and this was my reward.

I know that the chances of a Roll Over Pair are very slim now and days. But the stars are from Series 2009 from the second J run of 640k still not great but $40 is not going to break me to i'll throw them in my binder.
