How does one sell 400,000 silver dollars? http://www.coinworld.com/articles/how-does-one-sell-400-000-silver-dollars/
Slowly, apparently. What is with this 1/2 point grading system that's coming? "By today’s single point grading (and soon to be half point grading)...)
I'm guessing it's the ridiculous "+" grades by PCGS. The Sheldon Scale is already far too granular as it is.
It's not just PCGS, NGC uses Plus grades as well. And it could be said that both the green (when it applies to A coins), and especially the gold, sticker used by CAC are also examples of half grades. For those that don't remember, or are not aware it ever happened, both of these things - CAC and Plus grades - could be considered to be a direct result of the 100 point grading system being shot down.
Well, it's more of a 60-10 point grading system when you think about it. With the plus grades that expands to 120-19 (edit: Originally I wrote 20, but then I realized that I have yet to see an MS-70+) and with other designations it adds on more and more and more.... Where is that info-graphic I made a while back to express this when it comes to pennies... Aha! Here it is:
thats because it is so true. i kind of actualy like sheldons original idea, it cuts down on confuzelment. if we were only going to use 25 or so numbers, why us a system based off 70?
no... can a guy not combine the words confusion, an puzzlement without raising suspicion? oh, and if I had the kind of money he does, you would be seeing a whole lot more in the newest aquisitions thread
