I would love to have a nice example of this note, much like both of your examples USS656 and Inquisitive. I actually prefer this one over the $20 gold cert for some reason, maybe due to there not being as much on the face of the note.

 

I received this last week, another Chester note, this one from SC - I went from having only Chester PA notes to having a large NY and a small SC. Woohoo! Only 8 of these Type 2 known, out of only 32 total of all notes known, so a rarer bank...

Another day, another note... I got this in the mail today, won it in a very lucky way, it was up with three other 20's, didn't mention the star, and I almost missed it because I was almost to lazy to click on the next page when I was looking at new listings - there were only a few minutes of listings, and I almost said forget it, but I clicked, and there is was. A star buried in with the other nondescript money...

 

Whew, I was running low, got a new stash of notes in, should keep this thread sufficiently whipped for a few more days...

Got this gorgeous Greek note today, the reverse is a real star, just love the cliff and ancient temple artwork.

 

Not a note, but a mean of displaying it. I have been searching high and low for a "Floating" Picture frame and found it finally! Right now, my Red seal $2 is in there, but I may have to find a nicer note to display in it.

 

Dude really? I wish I'd known... I am a float frame freak...

That's about a quarter of my frames... note that last Gold Cert frame is old, got me some fancy upgrades for it since then.

I strongly recommend getting museum conservation glass for your frame if the note has any value whatsoever. I get the float frames at Michael's off the shelf, and they have either precut or easy cut museum glass in the sizes for those frames. Be sure they give you the framing discount on the glass, it's expensive as ****!

 

Very nicely displayed mec.....none of those notes are in sleaves?they are ok in the glass for long period of time?

 

Ohmygawash Mec! Love 'em. So far, the note I have is a cheap red seal $2, but I have big plans for the little frame. I have always wanted to get one because you can display both sides without a hassle. Funny thing is the note I have in there is worth less than half what I paid for the frame

I am thinking a series 1918 $2 would suffice in it.

 

Great displays Mec. I'm not sure if I like the Edcational notes, or the Fractionals, OR the Gold Certs the most. Thanks for displaying them for us in this forum.

 

No, not in sleeves. This glass is designed for protecting valuable art and such, I've had no problems whatsoever - keep in mind it's only been a couple years since I've been collecting... but it's the best product I've seen, and they sure price it as such... again, Michael's will either stock the drop in size or can cut it to fit any of their float frames (I use the brown colored wood float frame, they also have black).

Absolutely, the battleship is one I still covet (waiting for a nice but affordable Dallas district one, ugh...) and is one of the few I might mount backwards!

I will get off my lazy butt and take more photos at some point, I have a frame with a Chief and Buffalo in it, one with the 1,2, and 5 1899 SC's, etc. All great notes should be seen. Honestly, I wouldn't be collecting currency if I couldn't see it - it's the best artwork.

This and that - between male modeling, occasional escort for young wealthy single women, and assassin for the United States government, I put away a few bucks now and again to buy inexpensive collectible currency.

Well, I think we'll stay in Greece one more time - got this yesterday, a note that's a little less common I think. Again, as on so many of these Greek notes, the reverse is the star, I just love the way it looks...

That's my first frame of Chester notes - there are obsoletes and 1929 Nationals, all related to Chester (my last name). Top is a note from The Chester Bank, the other large notes are from the Bank of Chester in South Carolina, those all have dates around 1855. There are several more types that I am working on from that bank, with fancier coloring and such, like this that I'd love to get but is a bit pricey:



I do like the $20, always have loved trains on notes. Here's a nice example of that note.



I will assemble another frame just like it using other Chester notes. Right now I have just a large and small national, but I will I say I will acquire more...

 

Yea that one...Am not to familiar with obsoletes so i wasnt sure exacty what that was mixed in with the nationals.i like the train and art design on the left of that $20.
