Okay, I've been waiting for the new colorized $100 bill to be issued since it was first due out, back in 2005. Then the Treasury decided that they wanted to do some more experiments with different security features on the $100 so they did no new redesigned denominations at all in 2005, which was very depressing. Then, they were going to release the new $100 bill in 2006, and instead, decided to release a new $10 bill. Then there were no redesigns of any denominations AGAIN in 2007. :headbang: Then in 2008, they were planning to release the new $100 BEFORE the new $5 bill (this was what the BEP had told me) then they released the new $5 bill in early 2008, and said they would be releasing the new $100 bill in late 2008, which later got delayed possibly to 2010. :headbang: :headbang: Then, they finally unveiled the new $100 bill in 2010, telling us it would be released on Febuary 10, 2011, and then they ran into problems and said it would probably be late 2012. And they also said they would give a six months' notice of when the new $100 bill would be released, and so far, nothing new has been said about it, so, the earliest these new $100 bills could come out is Febuary of 2013. Gee? Aren't they about...2 years behind or so? :headbang: :headbang: :headbang: Boy, they'd better be planning a nice new $500 bill in the near furure  , or at least a nice new design $2 bill coming out with the next currency redesign, which I hope and should start in 2014 with the $2 bill and hopefully with the next new $5 bill introduced at the same time, for vendors to get a chance to reprogram for both, new $2 and $5 bills, with all of this waiting game going on, or I will be very disappointed.
Money Factory advised that they will announce the new bills within 6 months of their release date. I'm pretty sure that they are going through all of the bills by hand to pull out errors due to the crappy print job that caused it to stall in the first place.
I'm bangin' my head against the wall trying to read your post with all those animated head bangers...
They said if they did that it would take something like 30 years to go through all of them! I believe the option they chose was to bring in some custom-made scanning machinery to go through all of them looking for notes with errors. Personally, if I had been in charge of making the decision in what to do with them, I would have burned all of the 2009 $100 notes and started over. Welcome back, Drago. After reading your last post on the main www.WheresGeorge.com/ forum, I can see that things did not go over too well for you in your quest to promote the use of $200 and $500 bills, etc. I am curious to know why things ended as badly as they did for you on that forum. As far as I can tell, you were just trying to encourage people to think outside the box and use different denominations of currency like you do on here... I am curious to read your side of the story about what transpired and what led to your final and climatic thread on that forum. If you would like to share what happened but don't feel like posting about it on this thread, feel free to send me a PM.
Never. I have been waiting for them for years as well and I have given up hope that we will even see them.
