1879-S graded NGC MS67+. This is my new type set Morgan dollar -- but these are larger pics than the ones posted in the NEWPS thread.
Wow I can see why you're 79S grades MS67. There is nothing that detracts from the originality and frostiness of the coin. Great piece and nice pickup!
Two new OGH Morgans for me: Postscript--in looking at the two, one can readily see the difference in strike quality--1882s is usually a very strong, bold strike, and 1902o is often a weak strike (very hard to find a good strike for that date). Notice the difference in strike--it is rather significant. Just a point for the non-Morgan collectors who may read this thread. Yet, they're both nice coins in terms of eye appeal and surface preservation. Strike with Morgans is so variable by mint and date. To generalize (although there are exceptions--)San Francisco strikes in Morgans are much stronger than New Orleans ones, though there are variances to this generality.
