Those coins commemorate the 1944 Slovak Uprising by the way. Later, in the years of the socialist republic (1960-90), more commems were issued for the 20th and 25th anniversaries. And Slovakia had one for the 50th anniversary in 1994. Could be an interesting mini-series ...

Panama Pill and a decent looking Rupee. $30 for the pair, thought it was a pretty good deal.

Have always liked those Soviet designs on both the Czech and Romanian coins. Better than anything the Soviets themselves ever came up with. Many would say it isn't great artwork, but the thing with any true art is the ability to be identified immediately without attribution, which is something these issues all have.

This is my first and only foreign coin. A 1918 1/2 Mark. I don't know much about it, and really just got it because I like the way it looks.

They're a very popular piece to collect, along with the 1 Marks. Those German Empire coins look good anyways.

Close, the pill is still smaller next to the Rupee. What's really amazing about the Panama Pill is the price on them when they are slabbed. Like winning the lottery if you can get one in a slab. Why anyone would pay 5 times more for one because of that is beyond me. I guess because some people are too lazy to get a loup out to look at the coin for themselves when grading it.

One of the Rarest Canadian Coins ...

    50c Canada 1947 ML CR7 VF35 Both CU-horz.jpg
    50c Canada 1947 Maple Leaf
    Curved Right 7 VF35 PCGS

The 1947 Maple Leaf half dollars are rather tough in and of themselves, but most of the 38,433 pieces originally minted have the so-called Straight or Tall 7, which curves slightly to the left at the bottom. This is an example of the far-rarer Curved Right or Short 7, which obviously curves to the right. The tiny maple leaf is hard to make out but it is just to the right of the bottom of the 7, below the hoof. I am thrilled to have acquired an example of this rare issue. I have a list of the "Rarest Canadian Coins" from another dealer and he ranks this as 21st on the list, with 31 examples at PCGS and 141 in ICCS. Many of the top Registry Sets lack an example of this coin.

    Enjoy!

    Best Regards, :hail:
