I got another 1989 Lincoln cent with obverse cud at the Philadelphia ANA. I don’t think that I have this one in my 1989 Lincoln cud collection. Also, it is apparently not listed in the cud book. Please notify me if you know of any available cud coins dated 1989. I’ve got a little collection of them and I’m missing a couple pieces. Thanks for letting me share.
Awesome! If I could get some clarification, is the resulting weakness from the cud on the reverse in the "E & N" of CENT? Trying to get all my cud facts down :smile
Since the obverse die is partially missing, it is not there to press the planchet into the corresponding part of the reverse die. That is why the corresponding part of the reverse design just fades away opposite the cud. I believe that Arnold Margolis used to describe it as trying to clap with one hand.
