I wouldn't pay anything over melt for it, and would probably actually offer 90% of melt.

    My official list:

    All MS-68 Silver business strike Eisenhower dollars. I have 72 & 74
All MS-66 (+) circulation strike Eisenhower dollars. Have several, need many more
All PR-69 DCAM Eisenhower Proof dollars (with NO missing frost on devices)....harder than you think.

No list to a dealer. To me, the fun is the hunt but I only buy a few coins each year and am in no real hurry. I lost my last attempt at a MS64 1915 Eagle on Heritage a few months back so the hunt continues.

Yes! If it's supposed to have frost, it must have FULL frost.

I have a few coins that i really want. Have i given the list to a dealer? Nope
The coins I really want are too expensive for me currently. 2 of the coins are in the $3-5K area each.
So no plans to buy them anytime soon unless I come into some money

That is the question I was wondering, if this is a wish list of coins you want but can't find or is this a list of coins you want you just can't afford to buy currently. I am sure many people would like $20 gold pieces or a flowing hair chain cent but their finances won't allow them to.

    A few observations:

1.) Some "lists" are not worth some dealers time, i.e. if your list is mostly lower grade, less expensive coins; the list would be better served by a local B&M dealer or a smaller vest pocket dealer. The bigger dealers simply do not have the time to look for a 2C in good or a 3C in EF. They would lose money by even looking for them.

2.) A lot of people with "want lists" actually only have "wish lists" and when presented with the coin or coins on their lists, they do not have the money to purchase them.

3.) Most of the more serious collectors, who do have the funds to back up their lists, do have lists with dealers who service them.

4.) If you collect higher-end, scarce coins; you are doing yourself a disservice by not working with and through dealers. A lot of those coins will simply not be available to the general public. This is especially the case if you collect a very specialized series, i.e. seated coins, bust coins, older gold coins, certain types of exonumia and even US Philippine coins.

Thanks for your response everyone. I suspected it might be damaged the moment she had it mounted. I told her that was a bad idea to do in the first place.
