I got a bit backed up and needed to get them in date & mint order to organize.
I was sorting. These were my set pages laid out on the dining room table. On top are duplicates of nicer condition Jeffersons. I did this to make sure I had put the best example in my set. This was last time and now I am due to do it again. Mostly all of these are MS.

I really like the colors on this one. I was watching it. I'm glad I didn't bid on it though. I don't want to drive the prices up for fellow CT nickel fans. Nice pickup and not a bad price.

lol. Far from a scrap! Trust me, I really wanted it. I do not have one toned (color) war nickel. I have made a breakthrough by having the will power not to bid. If I offer to buy it from you, please be a pal and say no!

 

I just can't afford the great stuff so I'm glad I can get in on a couple nice ones each month.

If it makes you feel better the colors, although very nice, are slightly less pronounced in hand.

But the luster is absolutely BOOMING!! The pics do that no justice.

Like a wise man once said.. life is ilke a box of chocolates...you never know what you're gonna get! All-in-all I think I did OK. And if you really want it, I'd sell it to you but nobody else!

 

Just tried axial lighting today for the first time.
Decided to try it on a few of my favorite nickels.
Here's what I got.

 

Decided to try out a couple nickels for myself, looked like fun! And it's good practice for imaging. Any input will be helpful!

 

And finally, a 41-D I picked up straight out of a 15 year old Dansco. It's got some color, but shame for the fingerprint that was already on there when I got it. Thanks guys! -Shaun

 

And I almost forgot, one more I cherry picked out of the cheapo .10 cent bin. Not half bad

I think this is my nicest raw Nickel.
Unfortunately when I was just about done editing the image I noticed a fiber from my carpet made its way onto the nickel before I took the pictures.
It's on the area where his ear would be and also visible near the top of his collar.

I'm going to throw some nickel love out from the 60's since folks aren't generally excited about them.
