I don't actually - the only large size FRN I collect really are Dallas district notes, and I've seen a couple stars come up but they were well beyond my affordability range. I actually frame most of my notes and hang them on the wall or display them around the office. I'll likely post a pic of some soon.
Love me some lime seal notes... thats a nice keeper there. They don't sell for much on theBay in that condition but I still like them.
I have a brand new 20 dollar one with a horrible error cut, almost worse than that. I had it in another thread unless people want a repost?
Get ready... cause here come ALOT more, got a lot in today and have alot more en route. This is a nice greek note I received today, I really like the coin design on the front...
found this web note today, not in great shape and would have been better if the "wheres george" stamp was not on the back. Still pretty neat with the tripple doubles.
Arrgghh!! Now a web note with a Where's George stamp on it? Ok, I think I officially dislike the Where's George stamp.
Another day, another note, so CRACK THAT WHIP! Upgraded to this note a few days ago, just scanned and am pretty pleased, went from a VF Speelman White to an XF Elliot Burke. Happy with this and at a good price to boot.
I got this note the same time I got that Boston ace I posted a couple days ago - I got them together and I was going to just flip this cheaply to help cover the costs of the Boston as I already had a New York ace. Then I noticed something on the back. There was an inscription on the back: It said Reward, for being honest, and it was signed and dated on New Years Eve in 1919. And I say to myself - that's got to be good karma. So I am keeping it... Anyone who wants to take a crack at that last name, give it a shot...
I picked up two $20 star notes today. A 1981 B00529379 and a 1977 A03550613 and they're both in really good condition. Where do I find out if they are worth anything? Mycurrently star note lookup doesn't go back that far. and MEC2, I think that signature is E. Wesselhoff. In the 1920 census, there was an Earnest Wesselhoff in Detroit and an Emil Wesselhoff in Illinois. I wonder if one of them is your guy.
I think you are exactly right - I got to the Wess and after that I just had no direction on where to go, but Wesselhoff looks absolutely like a match. Great info! Makes you wonder if that person has living relatives today. How cool would it be to have someone show up with an old bank note your great great great great grandfather signed?
The 1981 from New York is from a run of 5.3 million then highest run of the Series EF-40 books at 45-60 The 1977 from Boston is from a run of 2.6 million common across the Series EF-40 books at 50-55 Would help to have scans to get a more accurate value based on grade.
