I've always enjoyed the obverse while not paying much attention to the reverse.

    It's a beautiful eagle.

Sounds like a penalty the Jets constantly get. :D

Have to say though, there are some series I don't like. I won't say which for sake of starting a coin ugliness war.

They are the ugliest coin ever minted anywhere ! But I got an ugly dog, girlfriend, yard and house. I am a refuge for uglieness and will accept any ugly coins needing a home.

    I really like the Morgan's.
While I agree that there are more beautiful coins, the Morgan has a lot of positive characteristics: First off, it's a piece of history. I own plenty of uncirculated Morgan's; but I LOVE the circulated ones----I imagine why, how, where, and by whom they were used. I also like the feel of the coin---it feels substantial when you hold it. Obviously the VERY active market for buying and selling makes them easy to collect and trade; and is one of the things that, I think, has driven its popularity for newbies ---- I know its what got me started.

The Roosevelt dime is far uglier.

I think some of the state quarter designs are outstanding. Delaware and Connecticut come to mind.

"Quantity has a quality of its own." Nothing like holding a big silver coin, especially if the design is up to the job. Love or hate Miss Liberty and the skinny eagle, the overall designs fill that space grandly, as with the Peace dollar. And if you are not necessarily a state quarter advocate, pick up a 5 oz ATB puck. Big silver in an appropriate design is hard to beat.
