Hi friends! As some of you know I have been working with the family of a former Israeli foreign minister to liquidate his estate. I am coming across several presentation medals from different countries that seem to be presentation pieces from/for dignitaries. It seems that these pieces have a VERY limited number of pieces known... some of the pieces I have come across are only known in museums outside of this collection. I was wondering if any medal collectors could give me some guidance in locating information about the pieces below. Thanks in advance! First is some sort of presentation medal from Venezuela in 1975. This piece is dated 1967 on the edge it is also marked "MJV Silver" Sweden?
Translation for the last piece which is in arabic: "memorabilia from the sons of Yousuf abdulwahid for the year 1926" I looked up up the writing in google but did not get any thing, I can ask in an Arabic collectors forum if you want.
So far no one knows what it is, they think it is extemely unlikley to find out it's history or source.
Yes, Uppsala University. See here: http://www.uu.se/en/about-uu/discover-uppsala/prizes/gustaf-adolf-medals/ The look is based on Johann Carl Hedlinger's design (mid-18c); here is a bronze medal that has basically the same design as your silver award: http://www.shops.muenzauktion.com/sesambestcoins/item.php5?id=11757 Christian
