  3. Not sure this constitutes a smash and grab...maybe a sleep and grab. ;) They will need to round up all of the visitors who had access to the guest bedroom for questioning and also investigate their recent financials and criminal records. My guess is that this case will be solved rather quickly. TC

She just bought them a year ago, and kept $90k worth of coins in the dresser drawer?

Reminds me of a quote from Ron White, "You can't fix stupid".

Please, everyone, do SOMETHING to protect your collection. Safety deposit box, a safe, even a secret compartment in the floor no one else knows about. SOMETHING. I don't think in a dresser drawer in a guest room really counts. :(

    It doesn't.

Smash and grab is a euphemism attributed to smashing out the store front window of a business, running in with a trash can, filling it up and running out through the broken window. The entire burglary takes less than a minute.

Two items of interest by smash and grab burglars, alcohol and tobacco.

....and bear skins. I had one stolen from my store this way. The front window (12ft x 10ft) was smashed with a paving stone. The guy (who might have been a wee bit intoxicated ) was caught and said he was returning the bear to the wild where it belonged.

Don't hide it in a dresser drawer, keep it under your pillow. They'll never find it there.

This looks like an inside job and fact that there was no forced entry, this could be case of Husband or children selling it off without her consent....

What are you saying? The a safe from ebay would have been better than blaurbarts shotgun?

If I was the criminals I'd be worried about the Spanish government. Spain once claimed Connecticut for itself.

Yeah, some day you wake up, pick up your pillow and find a bunch of teeth there.

The safe you posted a link to is worthless. Or, perhaps less than worthless because it makes things convenient for burglars to have everything boxed up and ready to go.

Not if it is nailed to the floor and it really depends on just how big of a cannon you own. OK you creeps. I can't remember how many rounds I fired. Was it 5 or was it 6?

Just do what I do, own an AK with 4 30 round clips. Bayonet is there in case it really gets interesting.
