Buddy, you are fighting a losing battle here. You have an opinion, but you give that one opinion for everyone that tries to show you what they mean. I'm stepping out now.

Yes, according to Ebay, I am able to leave whatever feedback I want. That is not wrong, that is their policy. If you don't think that buyers should be able to rate their experience, sell somewhere else. Nobody will miss you or your precious coins.

Learn how to read, all of my listings have free shipping. Just curious though, what do you do when an E-Bay seller sends you an item and the postage amount is not listed on the label?

Well I certainly know how to read or I wouldn't have a graduate degree. I haven't got a label with no postage listed. I haven't ordered that many things but a couple items had the exact amount on the envelope I paid in shipping. One charged $1.95 and the envelope said 54 cents. The others were just stamps on an envelope and I know what they cost. Maybe next time I go to a show or shop, I can deduct my gas from what I buy but I can't. I can deduct shipping costs though on my max bid. Unfortunately, the shipment that came today cost $2.80 when the charged $3 that I deducted meaning the guy got $5.15 for two 40%ers, one nice, one ugly. I always give good reviews when warranted otherwise but have given a neutral stars for shipping cost and I know I am not the only one, check it for yourself. I am positive others have done the same but gave good rating for everything else. I just admitted it. I didn't really ad what I thought of the items, the beauty and beast JFK 40% halves. The beauty was much nicer than expected, the beast much uglier than expected. Now that I am aware of the shipping inflation and others believe this is warranted, I will always deduct the shipping cost from the max bid.

You are completely missing the point. We simply think it is wrong for you to give a seller a negative, neutral, or low star rating for something they clearly disclosed in their listing. Now if a seller states that they are charging $5 for S&H including insurance and the coin arrives in a plain envelope with stamps, then you would have just cause to give them a bad feedback rating.

BTW, this is what an E-Bay shipping label looks like. I deleted the zip code, names & addresses, and tracking number. They give the seller the option to show the postage cost. I never include the price since I offer free shipping.

I've always wondered, is it cheaper to print labels through eBay or to go to the post office? Excluding gas prices of course :)

There is a small discount for Priority and other options, but the biggest plus to me is the free delivery confirmation.

No,, hopefully only you will miss out on other's precous coins, to your loss... as folks add you to their blocked bidders list and you find yourself only able to buy from powersellers who have free shipping and sink their shipping costs into their starting bids. As for me, I'd love to miss your bids on any of my auctions and look forward to never doing business with you or anyone else of your opinion. :foot-mouth:

Graduate Degree.. Really ? !! Can you define Total Landed Cost for us ? It should be an undergraduate term for most.

    Google it.

My degree is an MS in computer science not an MBA nor do I know logistics. I am going to put you on ignore now. I see that your shipping cost star has been dinged and you charge $2.95 for economy shipping. I can see now how me clicking 3 stars for shipping costs struck home with bajabully at least my feedback was positive overall. One person gave Bajabully negative feedback "this person charge me $2.95 for a stamp, I am returning, stay away". Another posted nuetral feedback, "excessive postage". You can put them on your blocked seller list but your feedback sticks and I doubt they will want to buy anything from you anyway. Now I see your hang up though. You can read the feedback here:

I have seen this before, when the shipping cost matched the price charged. The seller did appear more professional. I don't care what anyone does with their shipping anymore really, I am over it. People should know though to always subtract the shipping cost from the perceived value which many already do. The other option is to increase your starting bid, people will still bid if this price is below their perceived value. Of course you always got those people that want to start their AG common date Barber coins bids at $20 where nobody bids. There has to be a reason why when leaving feedback why there are stars about reasonable shipping costs. I am not the only one that clicked neither agree or disagree and certainly won't be the last. I am sure those shipping labels are good since you can just hand it to the mail man if you are not going out somewhere else where there is a mailbox or post office.

Much would depend on how the seller is allocating his shipping and handling costs.

For example, what if a seller hires a person to handle all of his shipping and purchases a computer and a printer specifically for shipping and he wants to allocate all of the expenses associated with shipping to the "Shipping and Handling" charge. Fair enough, right?

The labor costs him $45,000/yr (pay, benefits and taxes) and the computer and printer cost him $3,000 every four years. Let's say he sells 2000 items per month and his average variable cost (postage, packaging, paper, toner, electricity, etc) for each item is $2. Just to make things easy, let's say they have the carrier pick up the packages at no additional expense.

What are his average shipping costs per item?

    VVV Spoiler Below VVV

His average shipping cost per item is $3.90. (45000+(3000/4)+2000*2*12)/(2000*12)

But feel free to have a cow and give him a mediocre rating for shipping when the package arrives with only $1.50 in postage paid.

lmao.. wow, for someone who doesn't know logistics you sure do spend a lot of time telling folks how to treat their logistics costs.

Yes, that's it you must hire someone to lick the envelopes for the three coins you are selling so that is why you charge $2.95 for a stamp. Unless you want negative feedback like "This guy charged me $2.95 for a stamp I am taking this back--STAY AWAY!" or "excessive shipping cost" the person asking about shipping cost may not want to take your guys' advise. I personally would not buy anything off you so I don't care. I am not having a cow over shipping costs, I just deduct the cost from my max bid. Sounds like you guys are having a cow though because of negative feedback you received, not by me of course since I just won't buy anything of you but I did place a bid on one person that I did ding the neither agree or disagree star because I was satisfied overall. This conversation is done though now that I see this is about negative feedback you received for excessive shipping costs.

    rickmp Frequently flatulent.

I've sold a number of items on ebay. On some I offer free shipping, on others I add shipping. My shipping labels never disclose the cost of postage.
I have had two items returned. One was damaged in shipping, the other was because I sent the wrong item by mistake. I refunded both buyers return shipping costs. I figure it's a small price to pay for keeping customers happy.

To the contrary, you are having a cow over shipping costs. Furthermore, you keep on claiming that everyones reaction is based off previous feedback received. I offer free shipping on all my listings and have perfect feedback. But that is mostly because I have been lucky enough to avoid buyers like you.

I have consistently charged a little over on shipping to cover fees and packaging, and I never have been given a negative or neutral. You are saying that everyone arguing against you is just doing it because they have received negative feedback before.

Well Lehigh fortunatelty I have not encountered you on Ebay as well or maybe I wouldn't have a perfect buyer and selller rating because from what I read, your customer service skills are awful and you are a disrespectful seller along with bajabully, and elijahhenry10. I don't think buying coins off you three is a very good idea. I don't buy "buy it now" coins anyhow because they are always totally overpriced and don't even look at them. I am going to put you three on ignore as well since I don't want your precious coins and no longer want to continue this conversation as I stated before. Yes, bajabully has some pretty bad feedback, fortunately I haven't had to write except notifying a seller that there is an issue with his Paypal and I am unable to pay him, which I do quickly. I will take my business where it is appreciated and you can sell your coins to someone else. No coin sellers have had bad feedback from me but if I receive bad customer service, you bet I will. As a matter a fact I was bidding on auctions from someone that I purchased from before which seems to be a good idea considering what is out there. Fortunately I have had overall good experiences with sellers I bought from but do admit some are better than others.
