I was wondering if anyone who has access to the pop reports for NGC and PCGS could look up a coin for me. It would be much appreciated. Please pm me.
They do not. I hate to ask for someone to look them up, but I am not a member, and generally have no need to be. This is only the second time curiosity has gotten the best of me. Thanks Rick.
if you find a similar coin on ebay you can put the cert number from the NGC slab into their coin verification on thier website and you can find out that way. you don't need to be a member for that.
Not sure just what you are looking for, but you can get most of them from Heritage. However, you have to pay attention. Some of their numbers are wrong.
the coin in question was a 1968 D nickel in MS67. I figured the pop was very low, especially for PCGS. Rick let me know it was 0 for PCGS. So I might have been searching in vain.
What does the 144 or the 170 mean? Or is that the ms66 grades, and the following number is the MS67? For the record, I was wondering about the pop because I was going through an extra jefferson album of mine, and this ridiculous blazer was staring me in the face. It made all the rest look like culls. No chance at a 67 I assume, but it sparked my interest. This one was hammered hard! Compared to my other 68-D: Raw shot:
