Can't find a listing for this but I believe it has several extra columns in most bays. Also IBUS in EPU looks very thick. Liberty also looks interesting. Lou
I don't think I'm understanding this. Do you mean like in between the columns there are additional columns? Why would the Mint do that?
What I'm saying is that it has the same sort of extra columns like. https://www.coppercoins.com/lincoln/diestate.php?date=1994&die_id=1994d1dr002&die_state=eds
It may be Class IV faint remnants of the first hubbing. The thing to bear in mind is, when they take this faintly, nobody gives two hoots, let alone three or four or five hoots. Why? Nobody can say definitively, because they’re so faint. And it happens a lot, we just don’t always catch it. On these series, after 1985, especially, the second shot is more apt to be off-center. You can read about that, here: https://doubleddie.com/58222.html. Bottom line, this is inconclusive on an underlying first hubbing, and even if it weren’t, nobody cares. I know, it’s “very disappointing.” But then, it’s how it is.
If you look more closely at the coin as a whole you can see a ridge ring on both sides. This is a strong indication of a worn die so any doubling you see on certain areas of the coin appear to be doubled. Which they are but it’s not a Doubled Die, it’s doubling from a worn die that should have been replaced.
Understood the only real concern I have is the column doubling in bays 8-11. To me they just look like https://www.coppercoins.com/lincoln/diestate.php?date=1994&die_id=1994d1dr002&die_state=eds As fast Eddie said could be class IV remnants, which no one cares about. Thanks: Lou
