Just check Lange, it was the master die (not hub) that was sharpened....he makes no mention of the time frame.

I can't WAIT to see these two. I jumped head first in the water and could EASILY drop a few points with my non-conservative guesses.

I am not sure what to say about this coin. Yes, it has some wear. I have coins with, IMO, more or more obvious wear and they were graded MS. So this one went AU. Fine. Not the world's strongest strike with minimal wear and very few nicks. That is a 58 or maybe a 55, right? WRONG! They only gave it a 53. Maybe that is one more reason I like woodies. I get under graded coins for less than market.

Thanks rzage, I can honestly say I was really worried this time around. Definately got a little lucky. Didn't realize it before, but Doug and I graded this one the same....SCARY.

WTG bahabully.......and yes I've noticed how well he's doing.

And you and just about everyone else graded it BELOW what Doug did on that 13-D.

Dick ,this one was a real eye opener , I must have looked at 50 coins on Heritage from AU-50 to MS-63 and this coin didn't look like any of them . But these are where we learn . I was really going to abstain , but nothing ventured nothing gained .

Irish , that wasn't luck , you reasoned it out , now if I got it right that would have been luck . 62 was really wishful thinking . I never saw 53 coming , 58 yes but not 53 .

haha.. did I drop out of the top 10 ?!! I can't remember that, but then again, this contest has been going on soooooo long I may have. It's definitely been a marathon for me with evolutions within my lil' grading world.
1 - at first I started out giving my honest grade and grading every coin in every contest I found... middle to middle back of pack.
2 - Changed to +1 grading standard and I think I remember riding the #1 spot for some time, grading every coin.
3 - drifted back to uppper middle of pack over time, but stayed consistent and graded every coin.
4 - soles on shoes wore out and got a bit fatigued.... think I started to grade too quick and started missing rounds.. drifted to back of pack again, but still made the board.
5 - Second wind.... gonna run back to 50 now and see what I look like at 50 again... we'll see.
... I can't remember being off board or out of the top10... surley the n1 grading method didn't fail me <hickup>..... ; )

BTW.. again, this contest has been amazing not only in the method of it's administration, but the sheer longivity of it.... I've never met RLM, but I'll be dambed if I ever get into a bar fight with this guy if we meet... the guy just doesn't stop coming at ya !! :)

Thad is correct. Look at any GTG in the 350's.

Had to look this one up...last time I hope my computer votes for me. Not sure what went wrong, but when I tried to vote(and I would have still gotten it wrong) it kept telling me I had voted. :) The poll kept showing and I was still going to pick MS just not 63. Ended up having to shutdown ie to see what I voted. :)
