At $.04 a coin is this a lot, guy has (4) 5,000 bags for sale for $200 each. It appears he inherited them from his father, is it worth the risk to see if the bag isn't all 40's / 50's Could I resell this for more?
If you're patient you should be able to. Just don't expect to do it right away...and don't expect people to make you reasonable offers if you do.
That's 3.5 cents each, a good deal. I would snag it. Often wheats are sold to dealers in bulk, and they usually don't want to waste time to sit and go through them all. The last bag of 1,000 I bought, had over 20 $1+ valued wheat cents in it. 3.5 cents, even if it don't contain any "goodies" is still a good deal, as long as shipping is not unreasonable.
Meeting up with him, I have nothing better to do until the semester starts so I can look through the coins. He has 3 other bags if I want them lol.
Have to realise that melt on Wheat cents is 2.2 give or take cents on each. I loved buying them up years ago for 2 cents each, but those days are past and 4 cents each is more the norm. I bought some at that price awhile back and have found several mintmarked teens - including a '12-S and an 11-D.
I have been looking at bags. If you want to stoop low enough to write 'unsearched' on an eBay listing you can sell for a profit.
I'll put some rolls in the upcoming auction in September near my house, people normally pay redic prices for them at auctions.
Don't you just hate when that happens? I know for me I practically count down the minutes until I can get the coins and look at them.
I probably could have gotten them cheaper but I didnt want to press my luck, originally he wanted $250 and then he wanted $200. But I told him if he was willing to sell me 1 for $175 I'd take it and sure enough a few days later he caved in and mailed me.
