Found in change a couple years ago. I sent it to DGS for grading
it came back as AU55.

nice cud! That die was seriously broken. I'd like to see the weakness on the reverse of that one.

They are no longer slabbing coins. I will say they were very tough in grading. I had one they called F15 cleaned and PCGS graded it VG20 this was a classic $2.50 gold.I 'm hoping that the holder will be come more of a collector item, just like the PCGS doily holder.
Now I use only PCGS for my slabbing.

Thanks dwhiz & vnickels. Since finding this forum and getting great help and feedback, I have started looking at coins in a different light. Figuratively and literally!

A recent change find. It's the well known Vest Virginia reverse cud.

 

I doubt this coin is legit, but you've gotta admit that it would be the best "cud" ever!

 

found the 96 on 7/19/2012...last week don't know if the 2nd is a cud or not?
