and to be serious ... no president, senator, representative, etc post-Watergate (maybe a few exceptions which I will keep to myself as to avoid a political melee)
Andrew Jackson. The man is the only president to ignore a Supreme Court ruling, an d was responsible for the death of 3 girls and one boy of my great-great-great-great grandmother.
You're kidding! I'd rather see a commemorative honoring American inventors. Ford, Edison, Fulton, etc.
I would say FDR, at least on a gold commemorative, that is, as he took us off the gold standard and stole the nation's gold. I could see a silver coin for certain uses, but not gold!
I'd like to hear the story about your ancestors and Jackson. I know that he was a complete racist (Indian Removal Act), but I always found him fascinating. At 9 years old a british officer slashed him across the face. This must have given him the purpose the propelled the battle of new orleans. He also had it rough growing up. He was orphaned at 13, joined the continental Army at 14, fought in two wars, and survived the majority of his life with a bullet lodged close to his heart. Sorry for your family, but I guess I'm an old hickory fan.
