Do any of you have a membership to either or both? PCGS Coinfacts is $139.86 per year and NGC Collectors Society Associate is $39 a year. Does the PCGS membership provide that much more? I am mainly after recent auction records for specific coins and the PCGS site seems to do that better than NGC. I know I can go to each separate website and get the auction records for free, but sometimes that can be time consuming. I am also wondering if the PCGS coinfacts has data from ebay auctions as well. Any help or insight from current or past subscribers to either of these would be much appreciated. Thanks, Joseph
PCGS has a "Silver" level membership for $49. CoinFacts is a premium service. With the Silver membership you receive direct submission privileges and one year of online pop report access. http://www.pcgs.com/join/
I don't need the submission privileges as I submit mine under another dealer. The population reports are ok, but I am more after up to date auction prices from multiple venues all at one stop.
I have both. The PCGS app for my iphone is really much more useful. Especially when out at shows, auctions, and coin shops. You can just put in the first 4 digits and grade of the PCGS # ie 7264.65 and it will take you to the coin designated, PCGS guide price, 3 past PCGS auction results, 3 NGC auction results and next grade and previous grade. It also gives pop and you can link to the completed auctions, including some ebay auctions. I have used the NGC site, and it works good as well, but I have been using it less and less. Especially since many of the major auction houses include the PCGS # in their listings on NGC coins so looking them up on coinfacts is made easier. Hope this helps. JMO edit to add, that if you don't know the pcgs# for raw coins, or NGC/ICG ANACS you can still search fairly easily with the coinfacts app. IMO it is well worth the money.
I am a coinfacts subscriber, and have found it very useful over the years being a PCGS member at the premium level.
