So i am not trying to put fear in anyone at this point. I'm not trying to say anythign negative i just am hunting for reassurance.
HCSC has posted a lot of gold and silver online for sale. I bought some (around $1200) I used google checkout to pay for the items (with my CC). That was on the 17th. The 18th came around and google checkout emailed me saying the order has shipped, but i coudln;t find tracking info. I emailed the HCSC for the tracking and he stated thaty hadn't shipped yet. I looked at the google checkout transaction against the CC transaction. on google is says he is out of FL and the CC says the merchant address is in CA. I tried clicking on the link on the google checkout for the webstore he has listed and it was no longer existing. I tried calling the phone number HCSC had listed on google checkout and it is no longer in service.

I'm just wondering did anyone else buy from the coins he had listed?
Have you gotten your product or tracking info?
Have you ever dealt with HCSC in the past?

I want to buy more from him i just don;t want to be another "i lost money on the internet" guys.

What bothers me with his latest "for sale" items is the requirement to send a USPS money order or certified check drawn on a local bank only (no more Google checkout)... and to send it express mail for $18.00, as he must receive in 3-5 days. Now I'm not saying there's anything wrong with this, I've just never seen these terms anywhere before. The sense of urgency that he exhibits bothers me, and I personally would not buy under those conditions. Maybe he'll pop up here and explain his reasoning for this...

Wanting paid right away, not accepting electronic payments, makes me think there is some kind of "take the money and run" thing about to happen.

  6. Man, this just seems a bit too fishy. I'm sorry you are in that much. The contact number being out of service would be a tell tale sign that this doesn't seem like it is going your way. I wish you the best of luck.

Call your CC company, should be able to file a chargeback. Have some patience though, took a friend of mine over 3 months to get $400 back.

I don't know HCSC. What does HCSC stand for & do you have a link I could surf with? I'm just curious. Sorry I can't be of much help.

I suspect that if I had all this crummy information about a transaction, I might call my credit card company for advice.

HCSC is apparently a forum member. His latest post, this afternoon, listed a roll of ASEs for $525 and a 1908 double eagle for $1450.

ASEs and double eagles well under spot, but with no buyer protection of any sort (not even CC chargeback)? Sorry, but I'm not comfortable with that kind of transaction. I'd pounce on them on eBay (with buyer protection), but not here.

  10. Agreed, maybe our admins might have to take a look into this.

called them and they said i should wait to see if the package arrives. I would be much happier if i had some tracking info on a $1200 package though. I may just call them and tell them to charge back. When i emailed HCSC about buying the rest of his gold and silver today i got a quick response. When i emailed about tracking info...............................nothing.

Is this the same guy with a "webstore" mostly full of $1 and under items? Obviously there is not enough info to say either way, but unless he provided reputable AND verifiable references (or some offered means of protection), why take a chance? Most people who sell widgets... well, you know. Even just going over his started threads, the items offered to the OP do not seem to fit.

When CT member HCSC decided to sell coins utilizing the CT "for sale" forum, he listed some inexpensive items back in April... mostly $15.00 coins. Also accepted four or five payment methods (no PayPal) and offered 14 day refund policy, etc. In his more current WTS listings, items became increasingly costly, terms changed, and a sense of urgency became evident. Maybe I'm just a skeptic, but I see nothing but red flags. I wish he would post an explanation on this thread..

Have you sent him a PM?

I would agree to call your credit card company. If you did not receive the item than you are not responsible for payment and they will do a chargeback. It is essentially fraud to list an item and never send it and you wouldn't be responsible for it.

    Observation:
As some of you know, I am a small, part-time dealer when I am back in the states; with no more than 30K capitalization. I can name about 5 dealers in the florida area who would pay me more than what he is asking right now at a wholesale level. Which is what I was planning on doing with them if I purchased the coins.

When I PM'd him about the double eagles and silver eagles, HCSC told me he had 20 years of professional numismatic experience. Someone with that much "professional numismatic experience" would know more dealers than I do, to wholesale them too for instant cash. Some things do not add up with his statements and that is why I passed on the deal.

I hope it all works out.

    Questionable Dealings?

I can't advise you, but for the record, I contacted this individual within 1.5 hours (7:43 P.M.) of him placing his 5:17 P.M. For Sale ad, offering to purchase 3 of his Gold coins, under certain verifiable conditions which allows relative ease of prosecution that I believe isn't allowed by internet transactions. I informed him of involvement in past successful prosecution efforts for fraudulent transactions.

We had 15 CoinTalk and e-mail communications in the next ~16 hours (overnight, extended time gap without communications), with changing terms on his part. In the communication process, I was informed that coins had been sold with only 2 remaining, which now required relatively immediate payment with certified funds drawn on a bank close to his residence. I agreed to his conditions with verified payment delivery, and required subsequent prompt "like-kind" delivery efforts with tracking information. His response was
"I will let you know when it arrives, clears and items ship". This indicated a non-committal, and I notified him that his term changes were unacceptable.

This isn't intended as a judgment, but merely a statement of facts which led to my final termination of purchasing efforts.

I'm only publishing this information because the seller eluded that others on this site had purchased his inventory, and he had already received their funds. I will respond to any P.M. inquiries by individuals who may have entered into a purchase agreement with this seemingly unknown/unresponsive seller. :thumb:

Yeah Rick... I like "wary" better:

    war-y adjective
    1. watchful; being on one's guard against danger.
    2. arising from or characterized by caution: to give someone a wary look.
