Spender or keeper? Its a GEM. I found it in a stack of brand new $10's I was going through (along with some consecutive '04A GG *'s what an awesome day ). I go through lots of cash and I've never come across any I9 $10's period let alone a GEM 2006. So I decided to set it aside just in case. Sure enough, I looked it up uspapermoney.info and there is only three print run's totalling to 19,200,000 (only one block II A). There were no stars for this FRB, so I believe this note could gather some premiums in the condition it came to me in. The next highest FRB printed for the series and denomination is 9 print runs for St. Louis. There is nothing speacial about the serial or any unique errors, just the fact that its a Minniapolis low printing. Let me know what yall think .
If you collect that district, then why not keep it? 19.2M is a very large number and and I would think it is not likely to bring much of a premium if you try to sell it in the future. JMO Good Luck Regardless
I agree with Darryl, and will add that I've found the IC-B, ID-B, and IK-B to be the hardest to find non-star blocks for this series. All three of these blocks are print runs of 6,400,000 compared to 19,200,000 of your II-A block.
Yes, but I'm collecting by district, not block. Let's review: 2006 $10: C = 102,400,000 total notes printed, D = 102,400,000 notes printed, K = 102,400,000, and I = 19,200,000. Phili, Cleveland, and Dallas all printed more than 5x the amount Minneapolis printed. So for the reason your collecting your notes, your notes are scarce. For the reason I'm collecting mine, it's just as scarce in my eyes. Thanks for the input, Steve. I'm sure if I found CU versions of IK-B, ID-B, and IC-B, in a mixed strap of CU $10's (like how I found my II-A) I would of course keep them, but I'm not going to go out of my way to purchase them. -tbud I'm still and always on the lookout for CU Minneapolis $10's from all series except '04A and '06.
Since this is a note you found, you are paying face, for a GEM you like, $10 is nothing. Go bag groceries for an hour if you have to, but keep a cheap note you like. I don't really collect moderns, but the nice thing about a circulation find is you never pay more than face...
