Mintage was just 464,000. That for 1946 was 620,734. Before we went decimal I never found either in change!
The good news is this is a 1578 QE1 hammered 3d but the bad news is the double striking that destroyed half of the legends. It is my only 3d. It seems to me that 6d are more commonly seen.

The first is a fantasy 'coin' which is pretending to be an Edward VIII Maundy 3d. It is totally bogus. The second is a circulation issue silver 3d of 1941. After the introduction of the nickel-brass coin in 1939 there was still a demand for a silver version, particularly in Scotland - a conservative lot there! From 1942 they were only minted for use in the West Indies - the last were minted in 1945 but almost all of that year were melted down.
