So close, but yet so far. I just had to post this one. I bought many OBW (original bank wrapped) rolls of nickels. Always in search of some very elusive full steppers. This one was in the last 57-D roll I received. Usually the steps look like a wheelchair ramp for this year. It certainly looked FS to my naked eye with stunning luster. Happy days! So I imaged it and here we have it. So close, but yet.... I'm certain NGC will not let those nicks slide. I lost the battle, but the war is not over. Either way, a great example of a 57-D. Although the die that hit this one had some experience. -greg
Holy cow Bob, that coin is amazing!! I remember "Horns a plenty" ....What a great collection . Now your doing it with Lincolns, and a superb job at that.....Joe
I own this 1914-S ngc ms-64+, top image ....But I just bought this 14-S Buffalo nickel on the bay . I think this one has a good chance of making the mark. It does have some verdigris on the rear end of the buffalo, but other than that it looks pretty good. I rolled the dice that the seller not a very good photographer and the coin looks much better than the images....I hope I'm right.....
lmao.. Joe, that is an excellent dart, well done. Obviously a talented and intelligent man at work behind the avatar.
I saw some of what looked like wear on the horn as well. Perhaps I won't go for that one after all. More cash than its worth for the wear perhaps. Nice color though!!
