My guess is right around VG8 or so. In spite of the letters of liberty missing, overall not too bad detailing. Especially on the feathers and drapery. They both might have had an old cleaning/retoned as well.
I might bump both coins to at least a F. Hard to tell from the pics, but LIBERTY may be weak, but complete on both – the rest of the coins have VF detail, but the CC has rim damage. On eBay those coins are sold VF's - in a shop, they are VG to VF.
I disagree, especially on the CC. That one is a F all day long, at least in the market. You cannot always only judge the grade on liberty. I would easily pay F money for that coin.
You definitely have better eyes than me, thanks for swaying my grade and issuing a better second opinion.
Heck, we all look at coins differently. I used to specialize in these when I was into US coins, and collected XF-AU predominantly. However, I simply find the CC very appealing. It possibly could go for VF money on Ebay like SQG said, but I am a conservative grader. I would grade it a high end, premium quality F. The other one I would say is a borderline VG/F, with me guessing nowadays 99% of dealers would have it as a F in their case. Both are very nice specimens for the grade, though, and that is a very important part of pricing for these. Nice coins OP.
