10 cents without an image. Is it damaged, a rare error, silver, a proof?

I value your dime at 10 cents but reserve the right to revise that amount upwards if you post a decent photo.

Being over 1900 years old, it should be worth more than ten cents

    Lox or cream cheese?

I've seen them quite often. More than likely it was caused by a grease-filled die. The dime is so small that it is fairly easy for grease and debris to become compacted in such a small-sized digit. When this happens, the metal cannot flow into the recess to produce the raised number.

It's probably only worth 10c anyway, but it does make an interesting conversation piece. You can tell everyone that you got it in change at a Roman marketplace after leaving the gladiator fights at the Colisseum.

Anything worth talking about is worth at least 10c. and that's all you have go invested by hanging on to it.

Well all I see is that one pic showing a partial date, so at the mint somehow the date came out incomplete. It could actually be anything from a 2000 to a 2012, dang I'sa smart one. :D I think it's a neat error but could you get a pic of the whole dime? Someone will know or readily guess how much it's worth. :thumb:

Hard to tell based on the images but if I had to take a shot I would say a grease filled die.
