Dumped a whole bunch of halves today.

First check of the reject bin (before using) - 1 euro cent
Second check (after using) - 1960 dime.

I would say that I missed it, but I didn't have any dimes that I dumped.

Sometimes the silver coins seem to spin around on the sorting plate/wheel before being rejected, so there's a chance it belonged to the person before you but just hadn't made its way out of the machine yet.

Or it could have been in the tube and one of your coins that got rejected pushed it down.

I think it's because they all end up getting rejected by the machine and never make it into boxes. Then Inq, comes by and scoops them up. Just take a look at his find today...UNREAL!!!!!

Out of curiosity, how much silver do you think gets back into circulation from being "hoarded" (either coin roll hunters, people who knowingly grab pre-64 coins from pocket change, grandmas that have a jar of silver collected from the '60s, etc. etc.) I gave up CRH for silver because it was occurring to me that, eventually, its all going to be out of circulation in one way or another. Maybe I ought to give CRH for silver another shot.

Had to convince the teller to give me the rejects when he had to change the bags. Was rewarded with a '64 roosie.

    Inq,

What an incredible find you had with the Gold Indian. I knew it was just a matter of time before you found gold in the reject (see above from 4 months ago). I thought it would be a foreign coin but you got a US Gold coin, just amazing.

Good job and keep on checking those reject tubes.

I will eventually. I wouldn't trust the B&M dealers near me except to rob me blind, and tell me that I'm getting a great deal while they are doing it. I have a few coin show dealers with whom I have a relationship, I'll show it to them.
