Let's see your patriotic notes! I'll start with a Series 1976 $2 FRN with a Bicentennial stamp postmarked Fort McHenry Station on July 4th, 1976. As the postmark indicates, Fort McHenry is the birthplace of our National Anthem.
The US Treasury Building handsomely engraved on the back of the $10.......(note autographed by the BEP engraver) This is what the back of the one dollar bill almost looked like before President FDR stepped in and suggested the positioning of the Eagle and Pyramid be swapped. After the BEP changed the design, FDR signed off and approved the new design.
My 4th came up BIG. Won a lot of 5 star notes, a Republic of Texas $20, and a large size $50 Gold Certificate at a price I could afford. A positively HUGE day. As good as any I've had collecting, and in retrospect, it might actually be my best pickup day ever as far as long wanted gets. I've been gunning for a large size $50 for almost 2 years now in my price range...
I can't help but think that the original is more ideal... Here in the US, we read left to right, so the front of the seal should go on the left and the back on the right... JMHO.
I just bought a $10 1902PB from that Charter, 8504... my Mom lives in Sacramento and I am going to frame it as a Christmas gift, along hopefully with a note from Cumberland MD where she was born...
Tbud - a small size in VG just went for under $60 (I was the underbidder... sigh), a large size VG $10 1902PB just went for $150 (someone else was the underbidder...muhahahaha).
