Thanks for the kind words. It's fun and hard work all in the same batch. I have a feeling something good is going to come out of your search. Never give up man!

so pulled out a hand full today and saw a bright gleaming rim. Expecting a BU late 50's. Was I surprised to find a 1912! but then... grade about a 12. Someone had cleaned that lil pup till it shined! Still, a 1912 is a nice find.
Got to get some 4x or 5x glasses or visor. wearing 2 pair of glasses at once is NOT really the best. lol

Very awesome! I am happy I found this thread because a few days ago I was at my local dealer and he had a few 100ct wheat cent bags for sale. Now, I am sure THOSE are much more heavily searched than your 5k count bags. However, if/when I decide to put together a Lincoln Wheat Cent collection I can always start there.

Reminds me, actually. I asked my co-worker to bring in her "penny jar" from home. She forgot, but did bring in her coffee cup that was holding a couple bucks worth of cents. I pulled all the copper and wheats, including 2 1935-S's! I was stoked!

Thanks so much for all your information like this on wheaties. I love reading your posts! Best wishes on your new coming addition to your family. I look forward to you coming back here so that I can properly introduce myself to you/1

I agree the second bag was better, but overall you scored quite well. You could turn around and sell the common wheats for $0.05 and hold on to the remainder.

I really liked seeing the amount of '09VDB's you found. Next to the 1922d they are one of my favorite LWC.

    Congrats!

Thanks Pam, appreciate all the nice comments. I'm on and off every so often, even being away I still come back a couple times a day. I may not post as often, but reading all the great material from some of my battery mates makes my day worth it!

I agree, that second bag was definitely better. I've since gone through another two bags and haven't gotten nearly the results. It's just like CRHing the modern bank stuff, it's really hit or miss. I make out good on the resale, I only invest time doing these and have the opportunity to fill albums for holiday gifts for this year.

Update: Picked up another $50 bag from a dealer here in SF yesterday. I'll post the results of this round by Friday. I'm ready for a "Blackjack" kind of a bag like the first couple.
