I've been on the fence about documenting the whole coin roll hunting hobby. Because if enough of us tip off enough like minded people we'll be effectively killing our chances of finding keepers.

That being said, my returns as of late have been really quite poor. So out of boredom I uploaded a video of a box I searched [when yields were good]. Looking back I would now say when yields were great. The Video is in HD so please toggle the quality. It's also my first video so let me know what you think.

Nice video. The focus is a little funky. I like the sound for the clip. Sounds like you were recording the video at a race track.

you found more silver in one box than I've found in 10

This isn't what I normally get when I search boxes. I recorded other boxes that night, but this was the only one that had anything worth editing video over.

BTW, I hope your 11th box finds more that I did

First thought; That's a lot of enders for not that much silver.

Second thought; I hope you're not the type that opens the rolls, searches, tosses them back in, then folds over one end and tapes up the boxes. I can't stand people that do that.

Third thought; I also hope you paid for those coins instead of shorting the bank/coin service/future customer money on those rolls.

Hi merc, how's about we keep things pleasant?

    1. I agree it's not a lot of silver, but some is better then none.
    2. I do bring the rolls back in this condition, because my banks require coin rolled before they bag them. I also don't tape the end. I return them as is.
*most importantly, I'm actually a little offended by your thought here*
    3. The video is playing at 2000x real time, then 600x real time. Each time I set aside a silver keeper, I replaced it with a non-silver coin.

I did ask for your thoughts, so I'm sorry I opened the door for criticism. I also hate getting sealed bank boxes where the rolls were just returned and are opened on one end. Like the courier service just sealed the box back up.

    1. I wasn't being rude, just saying I was surprised by the lack of finds given you had what? 4 enders or something? Then again I've had plenty of boxes with an ender that was the only keeper... Some silver is definitely better than none.

    2. Find a bank that doesn't require rolled change... it will save you time, and will save other roll searchers time. You are dumping these at a different bank than where you order, right?

    3. That's good, I could tell the video is being fast-forwarded substantially. Just didn't see you adding coins, only pulling. I've gotten boxes with refolded rolls that were as much as $10 short.

I speak my mind, sorry if I came off as rude, I wasn't intending to be. More passive-agressive than anything else. :)

I think it just sounded kindof harsh, but it's all good. I needed to thicken my skin for forum commentary anyways. :)

Finding a box that has silver enders would make you think it's got a nice amount hidden inside. But I'm sure you're aware that it's not always the case.

My two best boxes had 9 and 11 enders each... those boxes were fairly loaded, nearly 10% silver in each. Multiple enders are usually a good omen, but not always, I suppose.

Side note, don't just post videos of the good boxes, post videos of the skunk boxes too. Be real about this hobby... skunks outnumber decent silver boxes by a ratio of like, 10:1.

You don't think my OP has enough descriptive info suggesting this isn't the norm? It also takes time to format that much video. Perhaps next week I'll go the distance in recording.

I am working on a nickel video, and I will see about recording my total box hunting for half dollars. It slows down the process considerably, but it's also a lot of fun :)

Thanks everyone for commenting and looking at the video. I will definitely post additional videos.
