I think you're just getting exceedingly lucky with the quarters. I typically don't find silver in either quarter boxes or bags, or in general circulation. I'll find a silver dime at the rate of about 1 per $250.

That being said, $500 dime bag today, skunk. Yuck!

I've tried to keep in mind that since my restaurant is ice cream/treat based, we get a lot of kids that get into mom or dad's coin collection and pay for things(lots of purchases with Ike's, 1/2 dollars, two dollar bills, etc.) and I just went and counted and I wasn't quite right by 'almost a roll', more like 23 silver quarters, and I know that 7 of them came from the same drawer(and likely the same purchase).

So, more than likely getting a little unlucky with dimes and extra lucky with quarters?

That would be my guess. The general consensus is that dimes outperform quarters.

Also, I'm trying to expand my horizons a bit and picked up $100 worth of nickels. Hopefully there'll be something worthwhile! Can anyone point me to a thread (or just fill me in) about some things to keep an eye out for as far as the jefferson's go?

$350 CWR dimes, 15 Rosies. 14 of them were in the same roll. This is the most dimes I have ever found.

Obviously War Nickels (42-45) and Buffalos (and anything earlier, people find V Nicks from time to time)

Other than that I'd look out for the key date Jeffersons 38D and S, 39D and S, 50D, or any of the lower mintage ones (2009P and D, 42D, 46S, 48S, 49S, 50, 51S, and 55). A lot of people just keep all Jeffersons from 1960 and earlier.

I'd keep an eye out for the following as well:
    1943P 3 over 2 or Double Eye
    1945P DDR
1939 Double "Monticello" and "Five Cents"
    1949 D over S
    1954 S over D
    1955 D over S

Personally I keep all Jeffersons from 1959 and earlier and roll them as I go (2009s get rolled separately, as do 38 and 39). Any BU-ish from 1960-1975 and modern proofs get put into tubes, and I keep Key and Semi-Keys in their own tube as well.

Picked up 6 boxes of nickels today. I just finished the first one. Found these 3 so far in the first box:

Just realized I recently eclipsed 1000 40% halves found. :) Cool.

    $1 pennies, skunk
    $10 nickles, 1943P War
    $10 dimes, skunk
$200 quarters, skunk. Only a dozen ATBs, all were Ds. I am in Los Angeles, so have trouble getting the Ps. Not just quarters, but dollars/etc.

And a Canadian nickle, 1989, in the reject slot of the Coinstar machine.

Perhaps a sacrifice to the Coin Gods is in order, I do have a bunch of wrappers I don't need...

My Thursday halves didn't come in this week, but the vault manager saved a 1961 dime for me! I went next door and asked for any halves they had, plus a box each of dimes and nickels. Here's how I did:

$0.10 loose dimes: One silver Roosie
$250 CWR dimes: One silver Roosie, four Canadian
    $2 BWR nickels: Nothing
$98 CWR nickels: Three war nickels, two Canadian, and a dime!
    $3.50 loose halves: Nothing
    $20 CWR halves:

I think I'm getting spoiled. When it turned out that they were all 40%ers, I was disappointed they weren't 90%...

I did my first box of dimes today. Scored a 1943 war in my first roll!

Was rather disappointed when I went in to pick up 4 boxes of halves today from my first 2 banks and neither had ordered them this week... But then I got to my 3rd bank to pick up the last box... turned out to be my best box so far, by a longshot!
