This is a 1953 wheat penny with something wrong with the LIBERTY.

I have no idea what is up with this penny. Can anybody tell me if it is a minting error or just something that has happened to it in circulation? Is it worth anything? Thanks! (Sorry for the pic quality)

Looks like an impact = PMD.

PMD. Part of the rim has been sheared and pushed towards the inside.

Seriously? On my computer, the pic shows displaced material.

Picture quality isn't good enough to truly be definite but to me it looks like a possible cud. I don't see any damage to the rim.

If it were a cud, what would it be worth?

PMD, something scraped across the coin. Notice how LI was wiped out and the metal just piled up?

A cud is a die break where part of the die fell off and is missing. Everyone who said cud should research what an actual cud looks like.

As for my opinion, the top "feature" that runs left to right continues under liberty, which means it happened before the strike. My vote is on lamination of the planchet prestrike

    Would that be worth anything?

I think it is a lamination because you can see the LI on LIBERTY still.
