Another silly coin question.

You survived the nuclear war. Money is useless. Gold and silver are useless. The horrors of a post apocalyptic world are over. You live comfortably. During your hunt for food and supplies you run across a coin shop that hasn't been looted. Do you go "shopping"?

Someone still owns the coin shop right? As a last resort I might steal food to survive but I wouldn't steal for enjoyment.

If I understand this right, it is an "Omega man" situation, where the coin shop owner and his heirs are long dead. In which case, the shop and its inventory are abandoned property.

    Do I have that right?

You should write some "choose your own adventure" novels.

If the owner is dead and nobody owns it, who are you stealing from?

If the owner was alive, I'd offer some twinkies as trade ;)

What use are coins to me while finding food? Save the fact of the satisfaction of finally completing a collection I have long deserted.

Usually abandoned property is claimed by the city.

That's right. Because we are still going to be governed by politics while others put on a reign of anarchy

Yeah whatever, I'm going shopping and will post my new acquisitions on CT. I will leave a note at the door for the owner or his family letting them know that I have the coins. I think my dealer would want me to have them in the unfortunate event of his passing.

Truthfully I would even be passing by a coin shop. At that level of DEFCON, assuming physical survival and time to hunker down, my family and I would be with my buddy and his family and friends in his house defending our stuff and our supplies from others with rifles, high power sniper rifles and 30-6 shotguns. That's our contingency plan then again he's a former Army Ranger so your plan may vary.

You have not learned, you're suppose to loot twinkies, since they have a shelf life of a billion years. Forget the coins, the search is on for the edible but not really edible ever lasting twinkie for survival!

Depends on the circumstances. But the scenario sounds quite unlikely to me anyway. ;)

There are no silly questi... nevermind, I stand corrected.

I don't see why you wouldn't go in to check things out, you may be able to find some more guns/ammunition and food while you're in there. However, that's assuming the owner or somebody else hasn't barricaded themselves in the building already. If it was empty, why not? You also have to keep in mind, after something like this everybodies mentalities will have changed.

Why do some people waste so much time and effort creating and
solving fantasy problems, but do nothing to help solve any real problems?
