    Dimes are keeping me alive!!!!

So halves have been terrible for me lately but the dimes have been treating me well the past week.

I've pulled 8 silvers out of my last $950 searched....way above average.

Here's what I pulled from my box at lunchtime today.

I was running 1.23 per box of $250, this little stretch is 2.105 per box. I need it because my last 11 boxes of halves have given up 1 x 40% half.
Taking a break from halve boxes and going to see if I can get some CWR's

Good to see the dimes turning on you. Went back to the bank where I got the CWR of dimes that produced 6 roosies and cleared out their last $135 worth, had one more roosie in it. also got a roll of halves, skunk... two of the rolls of dimes didn't have a coin older than '73. No silver though. Forgot to mention I found an XF '72 T2 yesterday too, here's a pic of the mini-haul minus the 2 40%'ers... you can tell the buff is awesome, even from this crappy pic.

    1 box dimes skunk.
    2 boxes of halves 1st 9/40%, 2nd skunk
$143 loose and CWR halves 96/40%, 12/90%. I am still in shock! Only one roll did not have any silver and three were almost solid silver.

The silver coins have a white edge while clad have a brown edge. Check dates b/c some look clad but are actually silver

Just curious here, how common is it to find 1970 to 1974 S cents in circulation? I see that several hundred million were made each year for circulation, but I haven't found any.

The haul from yesterday and today:

    $3 pennies: 56 copper.
    $8 nickles: skunk
    $15 dimes: skunk
$430 quarters: A Chinese(?) coin of which I have gotten before; a Panama coin of which I have gotten before. Otherwise skunked. I haven't gotten a few ATB quarters of the Ps needed to fill holes. In fact, only about ten ATBs in all those rolls.

But the market has one of those coinstar machines, I always check the reject slot as I walk by. Once in a while there is a foreign coin. Today I found a 1943P cent. I guess the machines reject magnetic coins.

I see you live in Florida. I could be wrong, but I would imagine Florida is the grand daddy of coin roll hunting. 96% of the population is over 75 years old, and they would be just the ones to turn in rolls like you just found. Nice score.

Two boxes of halves: A 1945 Walker! Not in great shape (somewhere between VG8 and F12) or a rare date, but it's my first! Now I just need to find a Barber...
