Amazing find Darchangel. Must have been buried in a CWR somewhere and made it through the system.

Nothing in a box of dimes :/ but I successfully completed a folder of dimes lol.

I hit up a bunch of banks today and found two 40%ers and two 1964 halves in rolls and trays, also picked up two OBWR of bicentennials. Got a bunch of dimes too and found six roosies. Box of nickels gave up a war and a '37 buff in AU. Pics to come!

Skunk box of dimes, and to add insult to injury, the counting machine stole 1/4 of the box! I filed a complaint, hopefully when they recount, I'll get the money back.

The couple times this has happened to me I made out fine. They rerun the bags and notice it's over. They are typically over by alot, because others come in and dump a change jar and they have no idea what's in it and they could be getting shorted and not even know it. This happens several times until one of comes in with a box of $250 in dimes and it comes up $210 or something. We file a complaint, them come and rerun the bags and notcie it's off and then do a service on the machine to get it back in working order. Let us know how it goes, prob going to take a few days until they can get the service guy out there.

quick question. do the non-silver halves stick to a magnet? I'm wondering if you could hold a roll on it's side and lift it up using a magnet leaving all the silver.

damn. OK followup question. What exactly then are you looking for on the edge to identify a silver coin? I'm going hunting on friday but don't want to sort through every coin.

You're looking for a silver/white edge amongst the seas of copper sandwiches.

See how the one on the end stands out from the others. That's what you are looking for. Anything dirty, pull it and check the date. Then do a drop test, silver has a nice clink/ring to it compared to the clad coins.

ok seems simple enough. now how do people go about looking for proofs? I'm assuming rim check for silver then a quicke shuffle through for anything that stands out?

I'm asking all these questions cause I live in a border town and took this friday off to do a run on the us banks. Been doing canadian dimes here and could use a change.

Just don't edge check, CoinNoob. Look at the coins. Halves are big, easy to see dates.

Proofs typically have a THICK rim, so I usually pull all of those as well to check the condition. I don't really keep them I usually just toss em back. Found one yesterday...meh, circulated condition.
