I was finishing looking through some JFK's and beside's the other one I posted, found this. At first it just looked like a regular 1974, but when I was looking for DD on obverse, I noticed that it looks like a mintmark should have been on this coin. Has anyone seen this before?
    Thanks

However the occurrence, the mintmark was damaged outside of the mint.

    PMD.

It's killing me, it looks like someone just knocked it off, how can that be PMD? Sorry for the questions, I'm new to this.

Remember, mintmarks are struck in relief, meaning they are elevated off the surface of the coin, so anything that comes in contact with the mintmark with enough force can easily obscure or, in this case, entirely remove them.

The mintmark may have been damaged/removed in coin-counting or roll-crimping machine.
