    1937 D 3 Leg Buffalo Nickel

Along with my last batch of coins back from PCGS I received this non-gradable 3 legged buffalo nickel. What would you think this coin would be worth, and if it did grade what kind of details score might it receive?

    Thanks

It got a 97 for environmental damage, could be that green gunk over the "C" in cents on the reverse. No idea about value as is.

Hard to tell from the photo, but looks at least VF, maybe XF. I'd send it off to NGC to see if they can conserver it, then give it a grade.

I think it would grade XF40, but green spot and other green casts areas are probably PVC damage from previous storage of the coin.

Thank you for that! I honestly didn't know that existed. I just thought any cleaned coin was "cleaned" and that was the end of it.

It's a nice looking nickel. If not for the Environmental Damage it would grade XF all day long.
As far as value, here is an HA link with a similar coin going for a few ticks over $500.

Yours is a tad nicer, but the HA coin doesn't have the ugly green spot.

If it wasn't damaged, I'd say grade wise you're looking at F-VF, and value would be around $580-$640.
