I told a cop once, to his face and in front of other people, that he needed to spend the money to get a decently fitted suit jacket, because the one he was wearing made him look like a duck in back. He was teaching a class in college.
Hopefully, he took my advice.

Sounds like you were upset over that neg with no contact from the buyer.

Practice what you preach. You expect buyers from your eBay store to contact you before leaving negative feedback if they're unhappy, you should do the same.

It's called integrity!

 

If you are going to defend Detecto's actions as the result of the heat of the moment, then why wouldn't you do the same for the people responding. Whether you realize it or not, Detecto's finest skill is to make posts that elicit a level of exasperation that is unrivaled. To call them cyber bullies is just down right crazy. IMO, they really only had two choices, type furiously on their keyboards or slam their head into a brick wall repeatedly until unconsciousness was achieved.

 

What is Detecto's eBay ID? I'd like to block him

 

I'm at the point of thinking every seller on ebay and the net should block him. It's not worth dealing with someone like this.

Is it nonsense because it doesn't conform to your perception of what is happening? I think he divulged that he is in his early 20's.

 

Guys, I know that Detecto has made mistakes...but he is still in the early learning phases of this hobby. I agree with many of you concerning the topic of this thread and that he was basically wrong. It's OK to tell him that as everybody needs to learn.

However, this thread has become more of a "rip Detecto" thread than a thread about the original topic. Personal attacks are not allowed here. Lets keep it civil and stay on topic. Consider this a warning to everyone.

Every once in a while Detecto puts up an intelligent post, but those are very few and far between.
Many people here have tried many times, calmly and politely, to educate Detecto.
By his own admission here on CT, he is 20 years old.
In years he may be a man, but if a measurement of mind is used, he is still
but a child.
He will not or can not get the message no matter how it is delivered, whether it be
with a gentle caress or a vicious foot to the behind.
In my opinion, he has brought any ridicule he receives here upon himself and is richly deserving of such ridicule.

I sometimes cannot help but to wonder if he, at least to some extent, uses this as his "personal playground". Kind of like he did on the metal detecting forum.
