Looked through 100 $1's... G05260394* 2003 L06079013* 2006 L94377703P 2006, I like the 777 E55525553H 2006
Just picked up a brand new strap of $1. They are 2009 L-G. Its a full strap of birthday notes. # 32141901-2000. If anyone wants one for their birthday, let me know. I would send them out for face value plus 0.45 shipping.
Searched through $400 in singles today, and came up with some pretty good finds, which include: 1988A B-Q 1995 A-J, F-C, and F-Q 2006 G-* 2009 D-* (I've been finding a lot of these 2009 D-*'s). Once I was through searching for the day, I strapped up the notes I didn't want, and cashed them in. That's when I got this guy back: It seems to have some weird run size of 2.9 million, or something like that. I usually don't save $50's and $100's, so i don't know what I'm going to do with it yet.
I've picked up and still have one 1996 $50 AB-*. Right now, my teller is saving an AL-* $50 for me. '96 is an important year for myself so I really do like picking up stars and such from that series, even though more star runs are large in that series.
I just found one $1 in a strap today, 2009 L41414001I and from my teller I picked up a 1988 $5 A-A which is good because I have only got one other 1988 $5 and it was an L-A. 1988 $5's (or 1988 anything for that matter) seem to be uncommon.
Two circulated straps of ones, and I got my first fancy serial number: 2009 G 25400452 D! And a very very very near miss: 2009 L 95959594 A! Also got two notes from fairly small blocks: 2003A DE and a 2006 G*. Also picked up about $80 in twos. Found a few keepers for my low serial block set (lowest serial I can find from each block, regardless of condition). One of them is in awful shape; it looks like it was washed in the "darks" load!
Went through $1,200 in singles today: 1963B Barr B-H. 1988A L-X, H-F, and A-A. 1995 L-J (XF), L-V, I-J, H-H, G-P, F-R (AU), D-G, B-X, and A-M. 1999 E-B. 2006 L-I (some kind of print error, posted in another thread), F-* (640k), B-*, F28000202S, E44604464H, B56455555G ("5" of a kind and trinary), and A88080801E. 2009 L11155595C and H63337773A. Something weird to note about one of the straps-- There were 10 or 15 $1's in a row from Series 1995, 1999, and 2001 all were like deepfried or something. And it seems like someone tried to turn them all into errors, because I could see impressions of copied parts on the face. Weird...
I had teller save me the following $1 2006 series notes: J00060380 *, J00060517*, J00060518*, J00060539*, J00060597*, J00060598*, J00061407*, J00062092*, J02371580* They are in pretty good condition. They look like they have been folded, but are not extremely creased. Are they worth hanging on to? J
Searched through $500 in singles today, and not to much to report. My finds consist of a few 1995's, and a 2006 B-* ( I already have several of these) that will probably just go into my cash stash. I also found a 2006 Atlanta note with the serial F 00008004 T. To bad the 8 wasn't another zero! So, kind of a 'meh' day, but at least I didn't come away totally empty handed.
This is nearly worthy of celebration. After going through a great many singles over the years, I finally found a $1 note from series 1963! Sure, it is missing a corner but with this note I need to only find singles from series 1969, 1969B and 1969C to have found every series $1 note from 1963 to the present.
Nice find Russell, The old stuff has kind of dried up for me, lately. It seems to ebb and flow. I'm actually planning a trip out to western MA (which is the more rural, and less populated area of the state) in the hopes that I have some finds at banks out there.
I just thought I'd try searching some bills instead of coins today... did 4 straps of $5 and didn't find anything special... then I stopped at the grocery store and bought a 32 oz. french vanilla/dark roast iced coffee and one of the bills I got was a star. figures (I put the $2 on top because my scanner says I'm not legally allowed to image banknotes, but it doesn't detect the $2...)
