A little below the description says "Finishing: SU" which means something like special uncirculated, I think. The German version says "handgehoben" somewhere. Judging from the prices (the proof or prooflike sets cost about €35; the BU sets are €18, or €20 for the newer ones) I'd say SU is basically BU, not proof.

What's funny to me is that I have a PCGS graded 1793 8 Reales that is in a PCGS AU58 holder, and it should probably be in an AU53 holder. But, on that one, the toning is what pulls the coin, so it doesn't really matter (see below). Either way I'm not getting rid of either of them. I always take the grades on PCGS world coins with a grain of salt...they are a bit out of their element in that realm.

Just a heads up these coins are heavily faked are these from a reliable vendor? i know in ebay they listed fakes' specifically a while back. I can't say from those images since i have had the silver ones' issues only.

Perth Mint The Great Reef II Manta Ray Half Ounce Silver[/h]
    Sun Jun 24 00:44:43 2012

This last release of the Sea Life Reef II Perth Mint Series is the Manta Ray, perhaps the nicest of the series yet released. Two subspecies seem to exist, one deep water and the other a reef fish. An enormous animal with reports of Mantas reaching 30 feet in diameter, they are largely filter feeders and pray on fish larve and plantom. The deep ocean manta, the larger of the subspecies, show up near reefs to find fish that clean the parasites off of their bodies. Their tails do not pocess a stinger.

Picked this one up raw on eBay. It is a two-year type coin (1859-1860) issued by the German State of Brunswick-Wolfenbuttel. It is a nice chocolatey brown, with no signs of cleaning or damage. This is a VERY small coin, smaller than a US dime, and thinner as well. This is the less common of the two year type, with a mintage of 103,000 pieces. The 1860 was minted in a quantity of 307,000.
