I'm sorry, I don't normally like to make "all about me" threads but I need to let this out somewhere, to people who will understand why this makes me so mad. Last week I won this gorgeous toned Morgan off of eBay for the sweet, sweet (IMO) price of $34.77. Look at how gorgeous. Look at the colors. The luster. LOOK. I've been eagerly awaiting the arrival of this beauty since the minute I won it. Well, my package arrived today. GUESS WHAT I GOT INSTEAD? Junk. More than junk. Megajunk. Harshly cleaned, polished, artificially toned, first-class nasty MEGAJUNK. I found the listing where the seller was selling this coin and they must have gotten my order mixed up with someone else's. Which means MY COIN, the one I paid for? It's probably gone now, gone to someone who originally ordered THIS junk, and I'm probably never going to see it. It's probably because I'm running on two hours of sleep, but this made me so upset and disappointed that it made me sick and ruined my day. I know I'm overreacting out of exhaustion but I can't look at this coin without feeling a little nauseous. Has something like this happened to anyone else? >:|
Woah.....slow down...take a deep breath.... Do you have a link to the guy's eBay page? Is his feedback good? It might of been a mistake, orders get mixed up from time to time, no one is perfect. Contact the seller, we can't really help you sorry.
No, they're not shady. Like I said, I found the other listing for the coin I received. I sent them a message about the mixup and am waiting for a response. I know it was an honest mistake, it's just a very upsetting one. :<
Don't blame you, I would be upset too. Hopefully things will work out and you will receive the coin you won.
Wow. Sorry to hear of this. But it probably was a mistake on the part of the seller, sending the wrong coin to you. I would think that the seller, if reputable, will refund you your money and needs to pay for you to ship the coin back to him. It's really the only honorable thing to do for a mixup like that. He'll take the hit on the shipping, but can probably sell it again. If he doesn't, simply file a SNAD.
Probably just a mistake. Maybe he'll be really nice and give you something extra like giving your money back and letting you keep the Morgan... Probably not though :rollling:
I don't know how you got it but it looks like an AT experiment gone bad. lol Send it back. It should have been in a melting pot by now. I would contact the seller and see what happened. Sometimes these things happen when there is a high volume of merchandise being shipped. I received a box last month from an online retailer that was supposed to go to a guy in Texas. I don't know how they screwed that up but they had to ship me a new order and send a return label for the box I received so I could send it back to them in CA.
Wow, that is ugly. Hopefully the seller can correct the problem and you can get all excited again when you get the package in the mail.
Wow! Calm down; it's not the end of the world. A mistake, I'm sure. Your seller will most likely correct the error, and you can then (hopefully) enjoy the beautiful coin you were expecting! Life's just too short to get so upset about things like this. I hope you end up with the coin you wanted AngelKitty. Lucy
Woah... the guy who complains about anything and everything under the sun while turning every molehill into Mt. Everest is so quick to advise someone with an actual problem to relax. The next time you get that uncontrollable urge to share the latest travesty, please remember this... "No one is perfect" and "We can't really help you, sorry" OP, Chances are this was an honest mistake, and even if intentional, there is not much that can be done about it other than refund. All you can do is wait for the seller's response and hope for the best.
I've had the same feeling; except it's when I miss out on a great deal due to some stupid reason. Sounds like an honest mistake...hopefully the seller hasn't sent out your actual coin to the person who won the AT Morgan...if not, at least you'll get your $$ back. But I know the feeling...thinking you got a good deal then something bad happens :/ . I'm sure you'll find another great deal on the 'bay; don't stress too much over this $35 issue.
Wow. How long have you waited for the seller's reply? Maybe give him a little more time, especially if he's a high volume seller. There may be more messages in his inbox than yours. Pounding on your keyboard to rant about this without even waiting for response from the responsible party isn't the best stress reliever. We're only talking $35.00. Hopefully, this works out for you. Give the seller a chance to reply. You will have other avenues available if he doesn't. This is the risk of dealing anonymously over the internet, however. My boss used to say, "Sometimes you get the gold mine, other times you just get the shaft".
A good dealer would send you out the correct coin without waiting for the return of the wrong one. Plus, they would reimburse you for the cost of shipping the wrong coin back. They'd also give you a sincere apology for the mistake. Good dealers do make mistakes, you can separate the good ones from the bad ones by how they fix it.
I truly hope everything works out for the best here!! I know my stomach would have dropped upon opening that demon coin up, that's for sure!
Are one of those coins supposed to look better than the other one? I just don't understand you tarnish lovers. :rollling:
Sometimes sellers want the coin back as it was received. In the original holder or 2x2. Not that the coin in your hand is going to suffer any more than it already has by being artificially toned, but I wouldn't send that picture to the seller. I always hold my collectible coins by the edges. It would be unusual if the guy who got your coin and you got his/hers makes an honest exchange. My experience has been the other guy keeps the coin if it is better although that is dishonest. It would be a nicer world if people did the right thing. Good luck with this one, be polite and patient and things will most likely turn out that you get your money back and your cost of shipping.
Well, just got a response and the seller says I can send it back and they'll reimburse me the cost of shipping. My coin did end up getting sent to someone else, though, and they said they contacted the other user but there's no guarantee that they'll send my coin back. Here's hoping!
