Once again... CAC stickers are NOT worthless. They can not decrease the value your coin any. In fact, there only function is to give the buyer more security when buying... how is that a bad thing?

 

Not to open another can of worms, but I think you're missing something. Their primary purpose in life is to be profitable to CAC. Any benefit you might realize from them is secondary to that purpose. Guaranteed.

CAC is King, every coin in a slab without the all powerful CAC sticker should be sold as scrap. :devil:

 

Heck, I paid for the slab with the 'green bean' on it.....I ain't gonna remove it no way, no how. Mind you, though, I didn't pay extra for that little piece of green real-estate.......I just like to 'count coup'..........

 

I'm going to start a coin evaluation business that puts a sticker on the CAC sticker. Then I'll start an even more refined subsidiary that puts a super-holographic plaque (cost) on the sticker (cost) thats on the CAC sticker (cost) thats on the slab (cost). Coin collectors are willing to pay for all of this crap, how far up the ladder can they be pushed?

 

The line up of a businesses interests and its advertisized service is a huge problem in ethical business practices.

One needs to always ask, "Just what is the business model"

 

And then I'll offer super-refined services to put your multi-stickered slabs into slabs of their own so nobody can peel all those stickers off. Our company motto will be "Yo dawg I herd you liked stickered slabs so we made a slab for your slabs that have stickers for their stickers so you can slab while you stick while you stick while you slab."

(Srsly though, I think most of us are past the age where we should be arguing about how cool or uncool stickers are. )

Yeah - if you saw the strike you wouldn't say that. In the live auction it rose in price 200 dollars over the internet bids and its strike is proof like deep It has eye brows

 

There are many who have tried to produce such a service as grading, regrading,authenticating, etc. But the majority of collectors are beyond the acceptance of these so called basement grading companies. 20-30 years ago, many started and failed . Even with little internet exposure, collectors realized that for the best grading ( assuming a person didn't want to spend years and observing thousands of coins ) was done by recognized big time collectors/graders/dealers/organizations. PCGS , NGC, ANACs fulfilled these needs. The argument about CAC will continue, but the reason it is succeeding is the graders who do CAC,have the reputation. Reputations ( contrary to some opinions) can not be just declared , they must be earned. Even well known experts on specialized areas , such as mint errors, or pattern coins can not demand the same payment for a grading/authenication. If CAC was failing, there would be no customers, but as far as the market is concerned it is not failing. I don't have a single coin with a CAC sticker. I think I can tell in hand a low MS-64 Morgan from a high end MS-64 Morgan. If your purpose is to sell, compare the cost of the sticker with the change in cost on resell. If you are a collector ( rather than seller) who can grade, you don't need it any more than those who hack their car computer to make their Honda sound like a Ferrari. Do they fool you ?

 

FWIW - I think I have a buyer for it at a decent profit

One of the reasons you have rub on this coin is because the high spots are so expressed. You can see the oval curvature in the reed poll, for example. I wish i could get a better image.

 

Those of you who actually "remove your CACs this month" please feel free to send the green beans to me. I still like them, and while I NEVER seek a coin just for the CAC, if I find one I like that has it, it is a great bonus. So, just put them in an envelope and send them to Sometimes Sunny Florida.

 

Considering the photo that you posted in the "All in details" thread, I assumed you had a billion megapixel camera.
