Anyone have a clue what the "status" of this company is? I sent them an e-mail on June 2nd with some questions about their grading process. Having heard nothing as of June 7th, I forwarded them my June 2nd e-mail and asked if someone would respond. As of right this moment (June 14th), still no response. I tried to call them yesterday and today only to get an answering machine message. :headbang:
They returned from the Memphis show earlier this week. I suspect they are behind on many things. Not making excuses for poor customer service just suggesting a possible explanation.
I would expect their currency graders are in much smaller number than coin graders so most of them, if not all of them, were probably out of office from the 6th to the 11th. Depending on the volume of emails the get they might not have been able to get to yours before the left and might be still working through the backlog.
Thanks for the info. They must not leave anyone behind to field e-mails and answer the telephone :bangg:
I just learned this myself. . . I don't think that PCGS Currency and PCGS Coins are any longer affiliated.
Good to know. Thanks. That probably lends to the issues you're having then. If they don't have PCGS (Coin) resources behind them they are probably very small and don't have much staff. That would probably explain why you have not gotten a response yet. I'm pretty sure PCGS coin has answering services/receptionists at least.
PCGS Currency Issues I am having a bad experience with PCGS. I submitted currency over six months ago and it has yet to be graded. They do not acknowledge my messages nor do they return calls. This has been going on over the last several months. Currently, no one is even answering the phone there. PCGS Currency is independent from PCGS Coins as James Bradford bought the Currency end from the PCGS coin division. It is now an independent business. I don't know what is going on but it does not look good.
Allen - - Thanks for sharing. Your post sort of confirms my concern. The lack of e-mail responses and no one answering the telephone is causing me to reconsider sending them my Notes. So what's your next step?
Same discussion on the PCGS board. http://forums.collectors.com/messageview.cfm?catid=23&threadid=856764
Looks like the president of the company says they just hired more graders to handle the demand are working to get through the backlog. Still, they should be more active getting to emails anda calls.
I am writing to the president of the company and sending it registered mail. I have already contacted PGSC Coin to let them know that their "association" could be a poor one. After all, they are using the PGSC name and not making it look good. I have also posted my dissatisfaction on their FB page....not that that will matter but it may warn others thinking of utilizing them and also let them know that there are unhappy consumers out there. No one likes poor publicity. Next, I will be sending a letter to the BBB of Peoria. That won't do much either but make me feel better. Bottom line - I think they are about to go under and my currency is most likely gone. I would warn anyone thinking of utilizing them to BEWARE!
Facebook Page Vanished So interesting....last evening, I posted on their Facebook page...today, the FB page is not even listed. Scary.
This is starting to look fishy. If I were in your position, I would call the Attorney General in Illinois for help in recovering you notes, more information and, if it becomes necessary, how to file a claim against them. Is all of your paperwork in order? Original shipping invoice and proof of their receipt of your notes?
I will say that not responding to customer inquiries, taking down the FB page, and holding people's bills for grading for nearly a year in some cases is very, very suspicious. Personally, If I were someone with bills waiting to be graded at this point I would probably send them a registered letter requesting either immediate grading and return of my property or immediate return ungraded and a refund. If I didn't have a response within 14 days, I'd file formal complaints with the BBB and the State Attorny General's office.
Okay, I have to update...most interestingly, I received a phone call today informing me that my submitted currency would be shipped out on Monday of the coming week. No specific apologies but the mention of a voucher for future submissions. Hmmmm. Not quite sure I'm comfortable sending "future submissions". We'll see. Apparently, someone monitors their internet sites! Thank you PGSC Currency! :hail:
Hopefully they will see these posts and realize that they leave people no other choice but to file complaints if they do not answer inquiries that customers have about their property. There is really no reason any company couldn't respond to inquires within 48hrs realistically.
