I've no idea on the toning, but would love to know a possible grade on this one if any one wants to take a stab.
Grading a proof is so darn hard. I cannot tell the difference between a PF67, 68, 69 or 70 These brown box proofs are notorious for the blue toning. I have a couple myself.
I love these, the unique blue/black toning makes the fields look like space which is very appropriate given the design of the reverse.
Found a couple that have started to tone since I put them in an old "Library of Coins (for peace dolalrs) album" a couple years ago.
Thanks! And here is an update; I made my very own template on PSE tonight. Not as good as SpaceMonkey's and some others I've seen people using, but not too bad I think. Same coin, now fancier: p.s. Your photos are pretty much the benchmark around here, at least IMHO.
Just added to my collection Apropos of what gbroke said regarding high end proofs, it is very hard to determine condition, once past 68. This one is a PCGS PR69DCAM "Silver", but frankly, I could not tell it from a 68 or 70.
ff-topic: But its an Ike question. I am looking for a BU raw 1971-P? trade or buy just e-mail me at Cointalk:thumb:
It's utterly ridiculous!! Coins that beautiful actually cause a physical response within my head. It's like seeing a beautiful sunset or smelling summertime rain.......
