    ...format failure aside, couldn't they have chosen a better image for this coin besides the burning ships? Do they also make a 9/11 coin featuring the collapsing Twin Towers?

    Such third party painted pieces I find fairly disgusting anyway :) But what is wrong with medals etc. that commemorate the Pearl Harbor attack and show core elements of that attack? Yes, people were killed, and showing single dead bodies I would find tasteless or worse. But they don't do that ...

    They are disgusting, but a lot of them aren't painted.

    While I understand what you are saying...and I agree to a certain extent, the photo of the ships burning that is used on this coin is an extremely famous image of the attack. So, while there is some "taste" issues associated with it...the fact that it is probably the iconic image associated with the historical event is probably why it was used. There is no photo of the towers collapsing that has the same historical significance.
