Hi Friends, I hope someone can help me out here..I am new to the interesting sport of roll searching. "Peace"
1. Welcome 2. Nice user name! 3. Looks like genuine doubling... is there any other doubling on the coin?
Yes,It's hard to capture but let me find a good spot & I'll upload the entire coin...It's hard to get the lighting adjusted.
in this type post it really helps to know the date and mintmark of the coin. This could be a well known doubled die but without the date and mintmark we can't tell. Richard
Yes,I am sure it needs to be posted but that was the only letter I could zone in on and if it was Genuine doubling then I'd worry about the big photo later, "peace" I hope the ones i have now help."peace"
I noticed on a few sites that there are many froms of worthless doubling as well...but when I saw the "d" in the first photo i thought it's worth another look.....and it is rounded....no?
The photo in post shows the flattened doubling that is MD and not Die Doubling. Sorry. Also the fact that the mintmark is similarly doubling almost is a major indicator as it was added from a second punch ( other than the working hub). Welcome to the forum! Jim
I didn't notice the mintmark was doubled,it doesn't appear to be or otherwise I'd have known.I think anyway but you all know more than me so Thanks for the help and consideration though! "peace"
Actually ,it isn't doubled..the mm i mean...not that that makes it a DD either but was saying is all...
You may well be right as you can see the coin and rotate it around a little. It appeared that there was a doubling appearance on the top of the "S", but maybe it was the lighting or my eyes : )
Right,It doesn't appear to be at all But in the photos it does. I never knew it was so hard to capture a photo of a coin
Thank You DesertGem for fixing that for me. I am no pro but something about this that doesn't strike me as strike doubling but then again maybe it's my sight too, Just the way that "D" is positioned.
I have been fooled many times myself ,but it sure would be nice if it was a big one, I could get laser surgery and see it myself
