I was doing some cleaning around the house and I was surprised to what I found. In a bunch of old change there was a 1930-S quarter. I believe it's the standing liberty quarter type. I'm not sure but I think it's in fine to very fine condition. What do you guys think? What could be its value? $5-ish maybe?
I'm not a grader but VF may be good. That year & condition have been selling for $5 - $12 on Ebay, so $5-ish is a good bottom number. Less, or melt value only, if you sell to a dealer.
That is the Standing Liberty Quarter, or SLQ as many refer to it. Yours is well worn from circulation, and the least number struck that year was from San Francisco. Melt on this is $5.13.
That's pretty cool! I'd keep it. But if you were to sell it you might get $8-10. Melt value is $5.10. Lance.
